Mission and Values

As a private, non-profit public benefit organization focused on community safety and resiliency, The Safe Community Project, its operational units MySafe:LA and MySafe:Riverside are committed to supporting the actions that will mitigate risk to people living in the geographic areas in which the organization has a presence. The organization advances its mission via education, awareness, training, and collaborative partnerships with first resopnder agencies. Our values are best represented by the people who work with us.

Our members understand that preparedness involves all of the various components that make up our core values – to provide service, to be ethical, and to act with selfless commitment to safety and resilience.

Whether related to accessibility, gender, ethnicity, age or sexual orientation, its important to find intentional ways to grow in our understanding and support of others. The Safe Community Projects (MySafe:LA) commitment to fostering an inclusive culture is a core component of our mission. We believe identifying ourselves as visible and voluntary allies is vital amidst the challenges all of us face in our daily lives. We are focused on encouraging and supporting an environment where all colleagues feels supported to bring their whole selves to work.

SAFETY

We strive to provide educational content and awareness that promotes safety to all of the individuals we come into contact with. This includes home inspections, training sessions, safety fairs, one on one training, and development of emergency response and emergency operation centers materials.

DEDICATION

A commitment to the objectives of our mission is an essential part of our code of conduct. Our people believe in our mission, and they believe that to achieve a safer community, each one of us must fulfil our obligations with professional service, honesty, and pride.

Register to be a Recovery Volunteer

We’re glad you’re here! We’d like to hear from you if you’d be interested in volunteering to help recovery efforts following the tragic series of wildfires that affected Los Angeles. Volunteers will only be used for recovery once fire dangers are resolved. By registering, you are permitting us to ask if you’d be interested in supporting the recovery effort. There is no guarantee that your name will be called. If we do call your name, you are under no obligation to volunteer and may decline or accept any offer.

Say Thanks to Firefighters, Police, and Other Responders!

Please add your name and message to the firefighters who responded to the wildfires in Los Angeles in January 2025. Let them know how much you appreciate their sacrifices to attack the unparalleled wildfires that destroyed thousands of homes. This was a “once-in-a-century” wind and wildfire storm, and these brave men and women deserve to hear from us.

Thank you for all your efforts in battling the life-threatening and disastrous wildfires that struck the Los Angeles area this January. We are grateful for your devotion to saving lives.
