Looking to serve your community?

We often say, “it takes a village” to create a more resilient community. This is your chance to be an active part of that village – to help us as we work to build a more resilient Los Angeles.

So Many Reasons To Join Our Team

Do you want to help your friends, family and neighbors lead safer lives? Would you like to be a leader in your community? Do you have energy, skills and time to spare? If so, there’s a spot for you on our team. From San Pedro to Northridge, Malibu to Little Tokyo, Downtown to Bel Air, we invite you to become a part of our growing cadre of safety experts.

Be a Public Safety Leader

When the next big earthquake, wildfire, flood, or other unexpected disaster strikes, Los Angelenos need to be prepared. MySafe:LA’s mission is to change behavior before it’s too late. We want to build a safer, more resilient community.

We want Los Angelenos to be ready when wildfires, mudslides or earthquakes strike. Our volunteers make our mission possible. They’re making their own communities, and all of Los Angeles, safer.

What we need in a volunteer...

You don’t have to be a safety expert

We’re looking for energetic, interested and responsible people to help us grow. Are you outgoing? Do you like to work with other community-minded people? Are you creative and fun? Do you like kids, older adults, pets? We’d love to meet you.

We provide all the training

You have to be at least 18 years old, and be able to give us a minimum of four hours a week for 8 weeks, so we can get you up to speed. Then you’ll be ready for all kinds a fun, relevant activities. The kind of stuff that will make you feel good about what you accomplished.

Looking to present our safety programs?

If you want to present our safety programs to school kids and older adult audiences, we’re specifically looking for active or retired firefighters, professional educators and police officers, or civilian CERT members, EMTs or paramedics
